Skills

As an aspiring actress I have already picked up multiple techniques and skills of a dramatic criteria. Those skills vary from basic communication and interaction such as team work which is needed in any performance, to harder techniques such as pitch, spacial awareness or facial expressions which all contribute to creating a spectacular piece of theater.
Projection is also really important and luckily for me I am naturally a bubbly and loud person, so it's just like second nature. However improvisation is one of those things that can either go really wrong or really right, the actors need to be able to give each other something to work with and then they need to be able to bounce off of that idea smoothly, I am able to do this because I have a vivid imagination so I don't find it hard to give fellow actors something to work with however, if an actor can't give me something back it can be difficult to carry out a piece of theater but I happily accept the challenge and try to help the other actor by speaking to them directly, so that they find it easier to take part.
It is really important to keep the energy level the same when playing a role otherwise it confuses the audience, although if emotions change throughout the performance then it only makes sense that the energy also changes. I believe that I can maintain the correct energy level but in order to do that I have to keep focused and take in what other characters are saying.
The most important skill is characterization, because a performance is just boring words without the words having a personality. In order for me to create a character I have to give them a back story so that I can workout why they are how they are today. That is probably why I can become a character effortlessly. Part of getting into character includes body language, movement and facial features which creates a emotional impact.
Ultimately concentration is key, if you can concentrate and really try to achieve then you should be able to do all of the above, like me.

Unfortunately, as an aspiring actress I haven't quite nailed all of the the skills needed to be a perfect performer, I still lack basic skills such as choral speaking but I believe that I will get better over time.  I also lack more complex techniques, especially in voice such as accents which completely baffle me and laughing naturally which I find nearly impossible. All of the skills and techniques that I haven't yet perfected will hopefully be developed over time with practice and determination but until then I can only perform to the best of my ability in the hope that I can capture what the writer was trying to portray.
